Long Breath Technique for Daily Stress Management

Stress is the emotional and physical strain caused by our response to pressure from the outside world.
And even though certain levels of stress are normal and healthy, the continuous high levels of stress we experience in our society can be harmful and affect our social and private lives.

So if you are a Hypnotherapist looking for a simple technique you can use, or a reader looking for a simple technique you can do on yourself, this is for you.

Imagine inhaling through your fingertips, up the arms into the shoulders, and then exhaling down the trunk into the abdomen and legs, and leisurely out at the toes. Repeat, and feel how this slow, deep breathing affects your whole body.

Note: make sure that when doing this type of breathing, you do not move your shoulders.

HypnoSomatic Healing, An Art Beyond Hypnosis

I recently got back from California, where I studied Somatic healing; an amazing method of healing the body from injury, pain and disease. The basis of this type of healing is Hypnotherapy. However, it is on it’s own merit an art beyond hypnosis.

Some may describe it as a type of "Energy Healing" or "Journey Work". Which ever the description may be, the results are always great.

Typically, when people come to me with a chronic pain or any other long-term issue about their health or life, we find that the problem is usually not what the client original thinks it is. Instead the problem resides deeper and might not even directly relate to the symptom(s) being experienced.

HypnoSomatic Healing uses different techniques to access the subconscious and work on a cellular level. While under hypnosis, the patient is taken thru their bodies using imagery and macro-movements. The practitioner guides and assists the client to do his/her own healing while in a trance. This allows healing of every facet the problem may have and allows for a completely recovery.

The duration and quantity of the sessions needed depends on how many facets (levels) the issue may have. Because this technique is so powerful, it usually take only between two or three cessions to cure even the most stubborn ailments. I find that when healing the body, this is one of the faster methods I have studied.

I have had people approach me to work with them on the issues of monetary abundance and the results are also great. Which shows just how versatile this revolutionary process can be.

Misconceptions about Hypnosis

I mentioned in my previous article that there seams to be many misconceptions about hypnosis, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to address the issue.
Lets take a look at the three most common myths:

1. Making people quack like ducks. People believe that being hypnotized means losing control and awareness of their surroundings when in fact it is the opposite. The individual under hypnosis is more aware and conscious of what is being said and done around them then at any other time. A misconception like this has come about from hypnotist shows which are meant for the pure purpose of entertainment and not for therapeutic purposes. Therefore making people quack like ducks against their will is impossible (Trust me, I have been trying for years on my husband).

2. Being hypnotized is a sign of weak mindedness. I get a lot of people telling me that they cannot be hypnotized because they are strong-minded. While I do not doubt that they are, being hypnotized is something so natural to any healthy individual that only people who are mentally unstable or who are not able to concentrate at all cannot be hypnotized.

3. Getting stuck under hypnosis is a common concern for many. I have had clients asked me "what happens if you get a heart attack or something while I’m hypnotized. Will I be stuck?" I always tell them "well, just open your eyes and dial 911, you will get 10% off your next session for saving my life". You see, hypnosis is a very safe and unobtrusive type of therapy, the client can at any time terminate the session, talk, blink, cough, sneeze etc. The person under hypnosis always holds complete control.

Improving your Health with Hypnosis!!!

There seams to be a lot of misconceptions about Hypnosis and I feel that some of these could be stopping some people from reaching out and enjoying the great benefits that hypnotherapy offers.

Hypnosis has enabled millions of people around the world to not only create richer and more successful lives, but also to create healthier bodies.

There are many complex ways to explain what hypnotherapy is and what it does, but for the purpose of this article, I will keep it simple and explain it as a method of directing your subconscious mind towards a desired outcome.

Many have cured ailments such as MS, diabetes and chronic back pain though this method.
Another way to say this, would be, that these individuals have reprogrammed their subconscious minds towards what they "want".

Through my studies and practice of the subject, I have found that certain illnesses and chronic pains relate directly to emotional issues that have not been resolved or emotions that have not yet been released from the body.

For example, often being in a state of stress over a long period of time can severely damage the immune system. There are people whose personalities tend to be more worrying or pensive and there are people whose profession demands constant concentration. Examples of these professionals would be Lawyers, Managers and Investment analysts. If persistent stressful situations, such as these high-pressure jobs or intense personalities, do not allow the body to return to a normal relaxed state, the immune system may be "blunted". This will lower the normal white blood cell counts increase the risk of infections and make the individual more vulnerable to colds and other viruses.

These individuals can greatly benefit from Hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis practices.
An individual who chooses to see a Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist must make sure that when seeing this qualified professional; she or he will include a recording to take home at the end of the session.

Emotion release may be for some something that may take more then two sessions and when getting in touch with a part of themselves they do not know they have, it may also become something highly spiritual.
Through my experiences, I have found that emotion release has always been the most healing part of any process done in any therapy session.

If you could achieve anything in your life, what would it be?

I found myself asking this question many times in the past, but never really had an idea on how to go about achieving "that goal" or "that dream". It wasn’t until I took an interest in the study of human behavior that I found my answer in hypnosis.

So, What is hypnosis? Well, hypnosis is just the simple state of concentrated relaxation.
Just by the small action of closing your eyes you eliminate about 85% of your awareness "noise" to the outside world, which causes your brain to slow down the frequency it normally functions in.

You see, when you lower your brain frequency to the alpha level of 7 to 14 cycles per second then you are able to use more of your subconscious mind (The part that controls your conscious mind).

It is said that our brain works like a computer, with around 100 billion neurons processing and responding to information. Imagine the possibilities we hold when we increase our control over this.

When using hypnosis to achieve the alpha level you can increase your creativity, your problem solving skills, your attention span, releases stress and so much more.

Hypnosis is not something new to the world. In fact the practice of hypnosis has been around for centuries. Ever heard the term "being mesmerized"?. Well, in our culture, we may link the beginning of hypnotism to the times of Dr. Franz Anton Mesmer. It was because of Dr. Mesmer’s controversial healing practices that hypnotism become the subject of interest to many, creating great controversy among the Vienna medical profession.

From the seventeen hundreds to the present, hypnosis has been the study of many great scientists and psychologists such as Sigmund Freud and Ivan Pavlov. Hypnosis has now became an acceptable way of healing, but the phenomenon of hypnotism and the study of the brain are subjects that despite great findings, have a great deal of undiscovered potential.

So do you need a Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist in order to access your unconscious mind?
Well, the answer is no and yes. You can learn self-hypnosis, however, it is recommended to use a Hypnotherapist or hypnotist to guide and coach you in dealing with certain issues. Working with the right professional can help you achieve your full potential much more easily.
